Share
Whether you're new to cold brew or already hooked, you've probably had a few questions pop up — from how it's made to what makes it different. We've rounded up the most common cold brew FAQs to give you clear, helpful answers and make you a more confident brewer (and drinker).
❄️ Is cold brew just iced coffee?
Nope! Iced coffee is brewed hot and then chilled. Cold brew is made by steeping coarsely ground coffee in cold water for 12–18 hours. The result is smoother, less acidic, and naturally sweeter than traditional iced coffee.
🕒 How long should I steep cold brew?
The sweet spot is 12–18 hours. Less than that, and it may taste weak or sour. More than that, and you risk over-extraction and bitterness. Our Cold Brew Packets are portioned for a perfect steep every time.
☕ What type of coffee beans work best for cold brew?
Cold brew shines with medium to dark roasts that bring out chocolatey, nutty, or caramel notes. We roast specifically for cold brew, with both classic and flavored options like Chocolate Raspberry and White Chocolate Mousse.
💧 What’s the best coffee-to-water ratio?
A good starting point is 1:4 for concentrate (1 cup of coffee to 4 cups water). Dilute to taste. If you prefer ready-to-drink strength, aim for 1:6 or 1:8.
🧊 Can I heat up cold brew?
Yes! Cold brew concentrate can be diluted with hot water for a smoother version of hot coffee. It’s a great option if you want something low-acid that still warms you up.
📦 Does cold brew need to be refrigerated?
Yes — once brewed, always refrigerate your cold brew to keep it fresh. It lasts up to 10 days if stored properly.
🤔 Can I reuse cold brew grounds?
You can, but the flavor will be weaker and flatter. For the best taste, use fresh grounds every time.
